Birdsong, rushing streams and a musical thunderstorm – join us for our second Unwrapped concert at the beautiful St Gabriel’s Church, Pimlico. All profits from the evening go to Mind UK.

We’ll begin by exploring the themes and structure of Beethoven’s 6th Symphony ‘Pastoral’, before our 40-piece orchestra unleashes the full, nature-packed adventure – perfect for a summer’s evening.

Our conductor, Alexander Conway, will guide you through the symphony, revealing its secrets, demonstrating key moments and sharing insights that bring the music to life.

Whether you’re a classical enthusiast or completely new, you’ll discover hidden stories and experience the music from a fresh perspective.

We will also be running our audience-conductor raffle – buy a ticket on the night (in support of Mind UK) for the chance to take centre stage and conduct the orchestra yourself.

Everyone is welcome! A well-stocked bar will be available at the venue, so you can enjoy a drink before or after the performance, or during the interval (not included in the ticket).

Programme:

Beethoven: Egmont Overture, Op. 84

Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68 'Pastoral'

Reviews from previous concerts:

"The LIO gave the evening the energy of a comedy-set mixed with a live gig and a dash of a history lesson thrown in" – Audience member (Ultimate Beethoven Symphony)

“It’s hard to do anything original with Beethoven… but you’ve managed it!” – John Suchet, Classic FM (Ultimate Beethoven Symphony)

Classical music belongs to everyone – LIO

All profits go to Mind UK, working to make sure nobody has to face a mental health problem alone.
