Escape the cold and warm up with our friendly and immersive programme of classical music at St John’s Waterloo on Thursday 30th November 2017.

Conducted (and presented) by Alexander Conway, the orchestra are delighted to present Mendelsohn’s Hebrides Overture, followed by a Christmas Sinfonia (a selection of festive tunes commissioned by the LIO). After a short interval there will be a brief discussion on Beethoven’s youthful Symphony No.1 - his symphonic debut.

What makes this symphony special? What should any newcomers to classical music be listening out for? What do Notorious B.I.G and Beethoven have in common?

There is a relaxed dress code at all our concerts and we encourage all newcomers to explore classical music with us… we may even try to ply you with a glass of mulled wine or three…

Alexander Conway - Conductor
